Kinzey Serves as Panelist for SCORE
Ruth Kinzey served as panelist at a recent workshop for emerging small business owners, sponsored by the Charlotte chapter of SCORE, the volunteer arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration that provides counseling to small business.
During the panel, four Charlotte, NC, area entrepreneurs shared their journey into developing
a new business. Basics, such as how often should a company’s strategic plan should be reviewed,
marketing tips and keeping an open mind to new business and growth opportunities, were addressed.
Included in their remarks were references to the economy and to specific challenges and successes the
participants had experienced.
Kinzey, the only reputation strategist on the panel, described the advantages of her virtual
network and additional plans currently underway to expand her low-cost business model approach. She
provided other advice, such as the importance of networking and developing strategic affiliations.
"She shared a great deal of valuable information regarding her experience as a small
business owner and demonstrated a passion for what she does. This type of insight is helpful to those
contemplating becoming a business owner or to those who have recently started a company," said
SCORE’s Charlotte Chapter Vice President of Human Resources, Retention and Recruitment Theron
Simpson, Jr.
In addition to the panel, the workshop addressed topics such as internet marketing and access
to capital for small business owners.
