Kinzey Speaks to Greensboro Chamber

August 13, 2010

In Ruth Kinzey’s August 2010 Triad Business Journal guest column, she cited the pitfalls of relying too much on company jargon.

She also asked readers for overused examples in their organization. Below are a few of the words and phrases volunteered by her readership:
"Let’s create synergies"
"Teamwork is important to us"
"Become strategic partners with our clients"
"Win/win” (in a cut-throat company)
"Human capital improvements"
"Passion" or "passionate about quality/ideas/plan"
"Vet it out"
"Delight our customers"
"U-boats" (Dollies used for rolling product when merchandising a store and not a German submarine!)

See how many more you can come up with when you examine your corporate language!
