Every industry has words to which it has assigned special meanings. For example, when I was in trucking industry public relations years ago, I captured the attention of high school students on career days when I told them our company had "reefers." (For those unfamiliar with trucking jargon, a “reefer” means a temperature-controlled trailer, not marijuana as the student undoubtably thought.)
